Bleed Area

The bleed is the 3mm extra space added to the outer edges of the printed document. For example, with the A4 insert you will see that the file that you are creating is actually 303 x 216mm instead of 297 x 210mm. This extra space is what we call the bleed area, which will be removed when the insert is trimmed to its final size.

Please ensure that all background graphics or photos extend to the edge of the bleed area. The dimension of this bleed area is 3579 x 2551 pixels. Not having your background graphics or photos extend into the bleed area could result in a white or unprinted border around the edge of the insert.

Trim Size

The trim size is the final size the insert will be trimmed to. For the A4 format this will be 297 x 210mm and is indicated by the red dotted line.

Save Zone

Keep your text and important elements within the safe zone, as trimming of the insert might affect the 3mm grey area. The safe zone for the A4 insert is 291 x 204mm and is indicated by the green dotted line.
